Our range-topping plug-in hybrid, the T8 Twin Engine, has
power and finesse, with the ability to adapt to every moment.
Driving the front wheels is a powerful turbocharged and
supercharged petrol engine. Power to the rear wheels comes
from a responsive electric motor. This set-up really does offer
the best of everything ? silent, emission-free driving in the city
and powerful highway performance.
Because it was designed to use a hybrid powertrain, the T8
Twin Engine has the same space and capacity as other V60
models, so it?s just as practical. Charging is quick and easy. Just
plug it in to the mains supply or at a charging station.
Five drive modes allow you to change the car?s character
to suit the road ahead and even your mood. Pure mode is
optimised to allow zero-emission commuting with electric
power up to a range of 50 km. Switch to Power mode and
the turbocharged, supercharged petrol engine and powerful
electric motor work together to give you an instant response
and all-wheel drive traction when you accelerate. In default
Hybrid mode, the T8 Twin Engine chooses between the petrol
engine, electric motor or a combination of the two, to keep you
moving as smoothly and efficiently as possible. And to optimise
traction in slippery conditions, there?s an AWD mode that
gives you all-wheel drive that distributes the drive between the
front and rear wheels to help keep you going. A customisable
Individual mode allows you to tailor your car?s behaviour to suit
your specific needs.
